The 2021 FIA European Truck Racing Championship makes its way to the Czech Republic and the Most Circuit this coming weekend 27th -29th August 2021.

The MV Commercial Team travel to Most with renewed confidence and belief following the problems that hampered the teams progress during the opening round in Hungary.

Tom O’Rourke gave the MV Commercial MAN a thorough shakedown last weekend at Donington in the British Truck Racing Championship and the changes made suggested the truck will be much closer to the front of the Chrome Class contenders in this weekend’s event in the Czech Republic.

Luke Garrett is the nominated driver for this round of the Championship, he was scheduled to make his debut at the Nürburgring but with that event being cancelled Tom decided to offer Luke the opportunity to share driving duties starting with Most this weekend.

The team are hopeful that a podium finish is not beyond them as they look to take points from the event to bring the MV Commercial team into contention for the overall championship battles as well as adding points to the team’s title chances where they are paired with the Apollo Tyres Tor Truck Racing Team.

Team Owner and Driver Tom O’Rourke commented, ‘I am delighted to offer Luke this opportunity to emulate what his father achieved and race in the European Truck Racing Championship, Luke has a fantastic pedigree and has proven his abilities in domestic championships and now he can display those on the European stage in the MV Commercial Team MAN’.

On looking forward to this weekend’s event Luke Garrett observed, ‘I am very grateful to Tom for giving me this opportunity, the MV Commercial Team had a difficult start in Hungary but those issues have been rectified and we shall go into free practice on Friday eager to show what the team can do and hopefully we shall be competitive’.

Garrett added, ‘This is MV Commercial first attempt at competing at this level of competition, there are many experienced teams and drivers in what is the pinnacle of European Truck Racing, we are learning quickly and we are finding improvements every time we go out on track’.

Sasha Lenz leads the Championship coming to this round, with five time Most ETRC Winner Adam Lacko looking to add to those successes on his home circuit holding second place in the Championship, Norbert Kiss (denied a clean sweep of victories at his home round due to mechanical failure) is third with 2019 Champion Jochen Hahn lying fourth.
