The 2021 FIA European Truck Racing Championship holds two rounds of the Championship this coming weekend at the Nürburgring 16th -18th July 2021.

On Saturday 17th July the circuit hosts three FIA ETRC races which make up Round 2 of this season’s championship. There will be one qualifying session to determine the grid for the first race and the results from this race will determine the grid for race 2 with the top eight positions being reversed. The grid for race 3 is determined by the drivers 2nd best qualifying time in the qualifying session

Race fans will finally get the opportunity to attend a live meeting although at reduced capacity due to the pandemic restrictions in place but there will be plenty of action for them to follow and for those unable to attend, following the success of the coverage at Hungaroring in the opening round of the season, fans will be able to follow all of this season’s racing action live via the official fiaetrc.com website, you tube and social media channels.

Live Broadcasts will start with qualifying followed by the three races on Saturday 17th July and the same format for the action on Sunday 18th July.

The MV Commercial Race Team have worked tirelessly to overcome the mechanical issues that affected the truck in Hungary, replacing the gearbox and clutch and bedding it in during the British Truck Racing Round at Thruxton at the beginning of July.

For the two rounds at the Nürburgring, the team have decided to share the driving responsibilities with regular pilot Tom O’Rourke assuming the duties for Round 3 on the Sunday.

Former British Truck Racing Association Division 2 Winner, Luke Garrett will make his FIA ETRC Debut in the MV Commercials Team MAN on Saturday for Round 2 of the Championship. 35 year old Garrett has experience of the Nürburgring Circuit having raced in the British Truck Racing Championship round held in 2019.

Both drivers will be looking to gain points in the ‘Goodyear Cup’, the category for the ‘Chrome’ rated drivers as well as looking to build points in the overall Championship and the Teams Championship where the MV Commercial Team are paired with the Apollo Tyres Tor Truck Racing Team.

Sasha Lenz leads the Championship coming to his home round, with five time Nurburgring ETRC Winner Adam Lacko following, Norbert Kiss (denied a clean sweep of victories at his home round due to mechanical failure) is third with 2019 Champion Jochen Hahn lying fourth.

“The MV Commercial Truck Racing team have worked hard to implement some minor changes to the MAN race truck in our efforts to compete closer to the front of the grid, so we will see if these changes will work over the course of the weekend."
