The high-speed action of the British Truck Racing Association Championships 2020 continues this weekend as #86 Tom O’Rourke heads to Thruxton Circuit for the penultimate race meet.
Building on a highly successful outing at Snetterton Race Track in September which saw Tom come home with two podium finishes including a thrilling first on the last event of Saturday’s racing, Tom now turns his attention to Thruxton Circuit, the fastest track in the British Truck Racing calendar.
“Thruxton Circuit’s high-speed design means we will be able to really push the limits of both driver and truck, and I look forward to the challenge,” says Tom.
The Thruxton race on the 31st of October and 1st November was originally scheduled for Pembrey Circuit, however, due to Covid-19 restrictions currently in place, we will sadly miss out on bringing truck racing to race fans in Wales at the fantastic Pembrey track.
“It is not surprising when I say that this season has been difficult, but thanks to the support and hard work of dedicated race officials, organisers and co-ordinators, mechanics and logistics support teams, and most importantly our proud sponsors, I think we have been able to come together and produce a season truly like no other. The team spirit, comradery and support we have seen so far this season will lay the foundation for an unbelievable final at Brands Hatch and an even better 2021 race year,” says Tom.
Tom returns to the track in Shayne Brereton’s MAN thanks to a partnership with the hugely successful FIA European Championship team of TOR Truck Racing. After two events he sits only 25 points away from season leaders Ryan Smith and David Jenkins who have a tied 126 points.
The BTRA Championships 2020 season consists of four meets: Donnington, Snetterton, Thruxton and Brands Hatch. You can catch all the race action live as well as previous event online.
