With blue skies, thousands of spectators and plenty of truck racing action, the first round of the MV Commercial BTRA Championship 2019 at Brands Hatch Race Track proves that UK Truck Racing is growing ever more thrilling and popular.

In Division One the competition got off to a great start with an intense showdown between three-time reigning champion Ryan Smith, 2018 runner-up Dave Jenkins and serious contender Stuart Oliver vie for top podium with Smith picking up two wins, and Jenkins and Oliver one apiece.

The competition looks to be even tighter than the all or nothing nail biting 2018 finale at Brands with Smith and Jenkins tied both for points and for identical lap times during the Indy Circuit.

But both are keeping an eye on the other podium takers over the weekend, with Oliver, Taylor, Newell and Coleman all looking menacing and finishing with silverware over the weekend.

For Division Two Luke Garrett continues to lead the pack from last year as he took podiums at all races, including two firsts. But Garrett’s lead over the rest of the pack is far from secure with challengers Steve Powell and Erik Forsstrom each taking turns on the top spot.

The next round of the 2019 MV Commercial BTRA Championship will continue this weekend (May 11/12) as both Division 1 and Division 2 descend on Carmarthenshire in South Wales to tackle Pembrey Circuit.
