For fans of wet weather racing, you couldn’t ask for a more exciting end of year race finale than last weekend’s Brands Hatch Truck racing.

The weekend started with drama a plenty as Whinnie’s gearbox needed to be replaced after testing on the Friday with the team working late into the early hours of the morning doing a transplant. After a suspiciously dry Friday, the wet weather returned with a vengeance for Saturday’s racing, with several delays and yellow flags throughout the day. Race two of the Saturday saw red flags come out after separate incidents for both Tom and David Jenkins, with the damage to Tom’s truck server enough to force a withdrawal from the race for safety. A quick assessment of the damage revealed it to be fairly cosmetic with the only serious work needed being a replacement of the front bars.

Sunday’s racing started out even wetter, with the racing starting out under yellow flags. Race two of the day saw a might crash that almost took Talyor and Oliver out of the action, with Tom slipping by both into second. The red flag reverted the positions to a lap prior with Tom relegated back down to forth, before storming back on the track for the final race of the year where he fought excellently for a third to finish off the season.

Overall, this has been an excellent season for the MV Truck Racing with the development of both the team and Whinnie going well. With the 2022 season now over, the action now continues in the race shed as Whinnie goes through a full end of year rebuild as we turn our eyes to the 2023 season.

A massive thanks from everybody at both MV Commercial and MV Truck Racing to all of our supporters, and we can not wait to see you all back at Brands next year.
