National Yorkshire Pudding Day is a celebration of one of Britain's most beloved and iconic dishes. On the first Sunday of February every year, people across the country come together to enjoy this delicious treat, which has been a staple of the British roast dinner for centuries.

But what exactly is a Yorkshire pudding, and why is it so beloved? A Yorkshire pudding is a light and fluffy batter pudding, typically made from a mixture of flour, eggs, and milk. It is traditionally served as a starter or side dish and is typically accompanied by gravy. The origins of the Yorkshire pudding can be traced back to the 18th century when it was first mentionedin a cookbook by Hannah Glasse – At the time, it was typically served as a cheap first course to fill up diners before the main course.

In more recent years, the Yorkshire pudding has become a beloved part of the traditional British roast dinner, usually served on a Sunday. And in 2012, in a poll conducted by T-Mobile UK, the Yorkshire pudding was ranked tenth in a list of things people love about Britain.

Did you know the largest Yorkshire pudding on record was cooked in 1996 and measured over 46 meters by the Skipton members of the local Round Table. So, as we look forward to National Yorkshire Pudding Day on the first Sunday of February, let's raise a glass to this delicious and beloved British dish, and enjoy it with our loved ones. Happy National Yorkshire Pudding Day!
