Christmas is only a few days away and while, more than ever, we are excited for the holiday, for many people December can be a difficult time and this year it will be no different.

We are proud to be able to support a fantastic awareness campaign by Harrowden Turf Ltd who will transforming one of their lorries with a message from the charity You Are Not Alone (YANA) as part of a larger goal of drawing more attention to the mental wellbeing of people working or farming in the countryside.

The vehicle will be officially unveiled on the 4th of Feb as part of the Time to Talk Day at the Royal Norfolk Showground.

Melina Raker, the patron of YANA, says, “YANA is delighted to take to the road in this way. This
Harrowden Turf vehicle with our logo and contact details will help to ‘drive’ home the message that there is practical help and advice available to improve rural mental health.”

The charity provides practical guidance and confidential counselling to those in farming and rural businesses who can feel isolated, depressed or unable to cope.

Stuart Ridd-Jones, Harrowden Turf’s Managing Director says “If 2020 has taught us anything it is that we are stronger together and whilst all businesses have had to adapt to the pandemic, those within rural businesses often work alone, can feel alone and struggle to access support services.”

With 1 in 5 people in the UK experiencing poor mental health, it is more important than ever to be speaking to somebody whether that is a loved one or somebody supportive like the team at YANA on 0300 323 0400.

Melina says, “Asking someone if they feel suicidal won’t put the idea into their head, but gives them a chance to speak about how they’re feeling, and that sense of relief could save their life.”
